ESI’s certified experts conduct a system gap analysis to identify high risk areas and develop solutions to improve system performance and effectiveness.
ESI will create the infrastructure for gathering meaningful outcome data as it relates to your agency’s key goals. If an onsite process evaluation is conducted, you will receive a detailed report describing strengths, areas for improvement and recommendations for program enhancement. The result: You receive actionable information to improve program performance, effectiveness, and compliance.
ESI can design a program evaluation package to fit your unique organizational needs according to specific policies, procedures and protocols. In some cases, ESI will use standardized and nationally-normed instruments to gather program information. Examples of evaluation areas include but are not limited to:
- Safety and security for close custody and residential facilities
- Treatment compliance for residential facilities
- Alcohol and drug program certification
- Evidence-based practice principles (corrections setting)
- Organizational climate (staff and program participants)
Correctional program example: ESI experts conduct onsite program reviews to determine how well a variety of correctional programs adhere to the Principles of Effective Correctional Intervention – those program characteristics that research has shown to be correlated with a reduction in recidivism. Programs include secure facilities, community residential programs, drug courts, and outpatient treatment providers that serve various populations (i.e. juvenile and adult, male and female, substance abuse clients, sexual offenders, violent offenders, etc.). Program reviews are conducted using nationally normed instruments and scores are generated using formal standardized criteria.
